Dan is a Project Engineer and Nova Scotia Land Surveyor with over 19 years of experience. He received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Surveying) from the University of New Brunswick (1993) after attending the College of Geographic Sciences. Mr. Gerard joined SDMM in 1995 as a geodesy specialist and to develop and lead the application of GPS technology to survey consulting. Dan joined the partnership in 2000 and became a managing partner in 2010. Over the years he has been involved with a wide variety of legal, construction and project surveys and, since 1998, has been regularly involved in wastewater treatment and disposal for numerous subdivisions, residences and LEED certified schools for the Province of Nova Scotia.
Dan has served as a councillor for 3 years with the Association of Nova Scotia Land Surveyors (2006-2009).
Mr. Gerard uses his experience to govern corporate operations, provide leadership on projects, and develop new technologies, marketing and client relations.
